Maintenance Manager

Cascap, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates for our open Maintenance Manager position.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance functions for Cascap’s affordable housing portfolio. Cascap owns and manages approximately 225 affordable housing units that are scattered throughout the Cambridge and Somerville area and throughout metro-west. Properties range in size from 35 units to individual condominium units.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising and directing the work of two full-time maintenance workers; managing preventative maintenance programs; overseeing repairs;  conducting inspections; requesting bids from, hiring and negotiating contracts with contractors and vendors; completing work orders; purchasing supplies; developing capital budgets with assistance from the Fiscal department; interacting daily with tenants, Property Managers and other Cascap departments.

The Maintenance Manager is required to have a minimum of 5 years of related experience in building trades, preferably with a trade license. Experience maintaining HUD, DHCD or locally funded affordable rental properties and experience or training in Fair Housing or a willingness to be trained is required. Experience with HQS or HUD property standards is a plus. Supervisory experience; strong written and verbal communication; computer; time and budget management skills are essential. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., have valid driver’s license and your own vehicle.
